Traveling with kids is a wonderful experience. But it can become memorable in only two ways. Either it is too splendid or too dreadful. Surely no one wants that his traveling with kids should turn into a horrible trip of his life. The essence of the whole matter is that some kids can't endure these modes of transports and get sick very easily. But in order to make your trip with your kids a success, follow my advice that I am going to give you now.
Go through this checklist and make sure that you carry these useful items with you:
- Band-Aids
- Antiseptic gel
- Crayons
- Mechanical pencils
- Paper
- Deck of cards
- Zip lock bags
- Small tissues
- Sun screen
- Dr.'s phone numbers
- Tylenol
- Small plug to find the bathroom in the middle of the night
- Sun glasses
- Hats/visors
- Light weight wind breaker
- Umbrella
- Camera
- Keep a photo of your child in case you loose them in the crowd.
Keep an extra copy of photo id proof, birth certificates, travel reservations, airline tickets etc
Remember these tips for a tension free trip:- Decide if your kids are comfortable with a morning or an evening journey. Book the tickets according to their convenience. Remember the last time you went with your family, how troubled you felt when you took them for a night journey.
- If you are planning a road journey, then stock your cars with snacks that are meant for everyone. Keep a cooler with lots of water and chilled drinks to keep the kids cool through out the journey.
- Keep comic books, games and amusement items in the car to divert their minds in case they don't feel well in the journey. Kids love to indulge themselves in some kind of activity throughout the journey. Be it munching, chewing or gaming.
- Pack a lightweight table cloth so that you can use it for outdoor snack stops along the way. Kids love to make their way dirty with everything they do around. This table cloth will help you to resist this.
- Make sure you have plenty of space while traveling. Of course it is not possible in a plane or train but if you are traveling by road, go for a mini van. I know you are more of a 'car type' but you can easily hire a mini van that may give your kids a little more room to enjoy the journey.
- If you are not comfortable with this whole idea of cramping inside the small hotel rooms, then an alternative accommodation can be a fun filled camp. A camp can add on the charm if you involve your kids in some kind of fun filled activity. But be a little careful with these camps specially when you have your family around.
Go and enjoy your travel! Happy journey! |
