Finding a location for a company event, can be quite a difficult task. However the key to this task lies in finding a location that everyone will enjoy. This will also take care of your "personal goal" i.e to impress your boss or client.
Here are some things you should consider when choosing a location, the next time you want to host an event for your top clients or the board of directors in your company.
First, the location you choose should exceed the expectations of those attending, especially if you are dealing with a small group. One of the easiest ways to do this is to find an event location that offers more than previous company event locations and is within the same budget.
Second, the place you chose to hold your next company event should have enough space to accommodate all attendees. When looking at the space available a balancing act is necessary because you do not want too much empty space and certainly not too little. Find a location where the proprietor is willing and able to "close off" or "reopen" unneeded or extra space, accordingly. Remember that. events rarely ever go as planned. So plan for what things can go wrong in advance.
Another criterion for choosing a winning event location is adequate accommodation. If the event is being held far off, you may need to arrange for lodging. It is a good idea to find an event location with lodging on the premises.
Also try to find a hotel near the location, where your VIP guests can enjoy luxury services, made-to-order breakfast, five-star dining, and other on-site activities. Take care that the location is relatively close to the local airport and competitively priced with other hotels in the area.
Finally, when planning your event, try to find a location that you can use year after year. If you mange to find a top-notch place that everyone will like, you will not have to carry out the same "event location" research year after year. |
