Planning a camping trip? There are number of rules meant to be followed, if you want to be a good participant in the camping ground and friendly neighbor to groups camping and enjoying the outdoors around your place.
You may be given a list of rules the moment you enter the camping ground or you may find rules and regulations written throughout the area. Here are some important and not to miss rules, which will make the entire camping stay pleasant for your as well as other participants.
- If the rules say “don’t do” something, then do not do it. For example, if you are asked to stay in certain, then there may be a good reason for this rule. Walking in an undesignated area might put you into some kind of unwanted trouble.
- Do not dump things and contaminate water sources. Stop yourself and others from picking flowers or damaging the vegetation in some way or other. It has been there from years and it would be nice if you leave it in the same condition to continue to be there for another hundreds of years.
- Don’t litter and keep your camp site clean. Or else the site will look bad, can damage the environment or it can even encourage unwanted animals to enter the area. Do not feed wild animals as it could be dangerous for you or they will keep coming back to the place again.
- Respect your neighbors. Don’t play loud music or shout. Many campgrounds ask you to speak in low voice after certain time. Violation of this rule can force camp organizers to throw you out of the place. Try to keep your pets quiet as well. If your dog has a tendency to bark loudly all the time, please make him stay at home.
- If you are coming in large group, or expect some visitors during the camping period then it is suggested to bring along extra chairs and card table.
- Make sure the fire is completely put out before you leave the place.
- Consider your camping site as a home away from home. Do not leave anything at the site. Even the trash should be disposed off by the camper.
Apart from following rules mentioned in the article, you should apply common sense to know other camping etiquette. Always treat your surroundings and neighbors the way you expect them to treat you. This will make the whole camping environment more enjoyable and relaxing. |
