If you are passionate about skiing, then Saas Fee is the best place that would complement your desire. A ravishing alpine village with a marvelous record of being covered with thick snow; Saas-Fee is a stunning village in Switzerland with a no-traffic zone, amazing coverage of towering peaks and sizzling blue glaciers. It is situated at a height of 5,904 feet, surrounded by 13 beautiful and marvelous peaks of 13,000 feet or more. Snowcaps are a permanent site to watch, as is skiing on the Allalin. Saas-Fee also offers snow equipment on rent for the beginner slopes that are situated just below the village.
The village is a part of the central valley which is situated in the central part of Saas There are several adjacent villages like Saas-Balen, Grund, and Almagell but Saas Fee offers the best skiing experience for all kinds of enthusiasts. Extravagant glaciers surround the village and it appears like a white sheet shrouds it. The most famous of the glaciers are the Dom and the Allalinhorn that are covered with snow all around the year. Travelers from all over the world come to enjoy all kinds of activities like trekking, hiking, skiing, walking and even breathing the fresh mountain air that is as pure as it can get and makes a pleasant change from the polluted air of the city.
In Saas Fee (Switzerland's all-inclusive ski resort town) there are no cars. Imagine that such a place exists where one can escape the hustle and bustle of city life, smoky environment of cars, traffic jams and pollution all together. In Saas Fee, the only crowd that you will find is drowsy eyed people, walking back to their hotels and motels, after doing the likable but tiresome activities of trekking and skiing. This is how life is supposed to be lived- with a blend of introvert and extrovert activities! Ahhh... Skiing is really popular here!
The main question is how will you get there so that you can enjoy your favorite sport skiing here. You have to park your car at the parking lot and from there the buses will take you to the nearest town. After reaching there, you have to take to the road to travel around. But it is nice that most of the attractions are within a walking distance. For non-skiers, the village offers the whole of the Hannig area for activities like walking, tobogganing, paragliding and everything else that is not related with skiing. Plenty of activities like apres ski, ravishing bars, amazing restaurants, stunning night clubs and no matter what, the village has got it all to offer everyone a nice quality time to cherish for their lifetime.
As far as skiing is concerned, I would like to share some important facts with skiing lovers:
1,800 meters is the maximum elevation of the ski runs. It varies according to the difficulty level of each person. It goes more than 100 km of runs-25 km for advanced level players, 45 km for intermediates and 30 km for the learners or you can say the beginners. Remember... It’s for serious skiers |
